We are faithful members of the Church of Christ.  We are strong in our beliefs and follow the rules and examples that are set for us in the New Testament.  We believe:  There is one true God. (Deut 6:4-5)  He sent his only son, Jesus to live on earth and die for our sins.  (John 3:16)  Jesus was raised from the dead and reigns eternally in heaven.  (1 Cor 15:4; 1 Pet 3:22)  Jesus was given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matt 28:18) There is one church, established on the Day of Pentecost with Jesus as its head.  (Acts 2, Col 1:18, Eph 1:22) We are added to that church by baptism-which is immersion for the remission of sins. (Acts 2:41) There is one path to salvation and it involves: hearing the word of God (Rom 10:17); believing that Jesus is the Son of God and he died so that we may be saved (Mark 16:16); Repentance of sin (Acts 2:38); confessing our faith (Rom 10:9,10) ;  and baptism into him (Rom 6:4).  The Bible is the inspired word of God and is the final authority for all doctrine. (2 Tim 3:16)  We should celebrate the Lord’s Supper (Communion) every Sunday. (Acts 20:7)  It is our missions as Christians and members of the church to evangelize all the nations of the world. (Mark 16:15-16)  Jesus will one day return to claim his own and punish the lost. (2 Thess  4:13-18)  Our goal, above all, is to worship and serve God.  Nothing is more important to us than going to heaven and bringing our children and as many others as possible with us.  We try to not let the things of this world come between us and our service to God (James 4).

Our Church Involvement

                             (Current & Former involvements)

Who we are:

Wayne was born & raised in Muscle Shoals, AL where his family faithfully attended East Colbert Church of Christ. He moved to Huntsville, AL, in 1992, where he went to the University of Alabama in Huntsville and received degrees in Computer Science & English. Kristi was born in Huntsville and grew up on the Marshall Islands, Central America, and in Huntsville, AL. After high school graduation, Kristi went on a mission trip to Peru through her congregation, Madison Church of Christ, unaware that she would be meeting her future husband. Wayne was attending Madison at that same time and went on his first mission trip to Peru.. It was at this time that they met, became friends, and began to have a longing for the mission field.
After the trip, Kristi moved to Searcy, Arkansas to attend Harding University where she worked on degrees in Elementary Education, Vocal Music, & Theater with a minor in Missions. While she was there, she joined a team that would be moving to Africa after graduation. She was very excited about teaching there and spreading the gospel; however, shortly after she left Harding, she and Wayne started dating and were soon married.
It wasn't long after marriage when they started their family. Kristi now stays home to homeschool their four children. Wayne also loves to be a part of teaching the kids and tries to turn every moment into an educational one. He especially loves teaching them about the Bible. Ever since he was a child, he has had a passion for biblical knowledge, and he strives to instill that same passion in his children.
Wayne has his masters in Ministry & Biblical Studies from Heritage University.  He loves studying the Bible and discussing it with anyone who will sit with him.  He has been a deacon over the Children’s Ministry and Worship and has taught several preschool, elementary, high school, and adult Bible classes. After nearly 20 years as a systems administrator and a lot of praying, he decided that it was time to do what God would want him to do and follow his passion for teaching people about the Word of God full-time. He was blessed to grow up and be taught by some wonderful Christian mentors, including: Albert Hill, Malhon Palmer, and Bobby South.
Wayne and Kristi are greatly looking forward to moving their family to Micronesia to teach people about God's Word. The kids are also excited about the opportunities they will have to reach others and teach them about our savior and God's wonderful plan for his followers.

We are firm believers in the importance of training our children to be strong Christian leaders, and Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes, especially the year-round program, is a great way to do that, as well as teach them to be gracious servants. We both grew up being involved in year-round Lads to Leaders, and are so excited to share it with our children.  The competition is a lot fun, but it's the year-round program that just really teaches the children how to be great leaders and servants and not just how to prepare for a competition.  All three of our boys have been involved in this for the past 6 years and have received numerous trophies from the competition side and the year round side.  This past Easter, Spencer, Connor, Gavin, and Piper Ruth came home with several trophies again this year, and we are so proud of them, but it's not the trophies that matter but the knowledge and experiences gained through the process.
We are very excited about the possibility of starting a year-round program with the children in Pohnpei.
